Excellent experience. No one likes operations of any kind, but Mr Gunaratnam Shyamalan immediately puts you at ease. From step one, the first consultation, followed by the appointment booking for the operation in conjunction with the doctor and his secretary. The personal touch is always appreciated. Mr Shyamalan kept in touch throughout the process, even after having the stitches out he advised me to contact him direct if I had any problems or queeries. Altogether a pleasant experience from start to finish.

Mr Shyamalan operated on my right thumb in February of this year 20019. I had, had terrible pain in the thumb joint for many, many years. I had a basal thumb replacement and I am now on the waiting list to have my left thumb done. After having my right thumb done, I did experience some scar sensitively for a few months but it’s absolutely brilliant now. Looking forward to having my left one done now. Would highly recommend Mr Shyamalan as a hand surgeon. Great aftercare service from himself and his team.

I had my thumb joint replaced due to arthritis on 29th may 2019
I have had no pain since it has been done. I was back at work 4 weeks later.
It was amazing cant recommend this fantastic man enough also the aftercare was brilliant
Our NHS service is just amazing. THANK YOU

I found that even from the first consultation, Dr Shyamalan was very friendly, understanding and extremely knowledgeable.
Following the surgery (Dupuytren's condition) my hand has made an almost fully perfect recovery with very minimal signs of scaring even after 6 weeks.
Extremely competent doctor and I would highly recommend.
